Product definitions are as follows.

  • Billet is continuously cast, 120x120mm to 150x150mm square
  • Slab is conventional continuous cast slab ~150mm up to ~400mm thick
  • Both billet and slab are made from commodity carbon steel rather than from alloy or other specialty steel.

All prices are monthly world average f.o.b. export prices expressed in
US dollars per metric tonne.

The chart illustrates the locations of ~400 metallurgical coke plants. Roughly 35% of the world's coke plants are to be found in China, with India (~10% of plants) the next most popular location. The largest facilities are to be found in Japan [JFE Steel, West Works Kurashiki and Fukuyama, each with ~4.5 mt/year coke capacity] with Poland's Zdieszowice plant notable also in terms of size [capacity of ~4.4 mt/year].

Approx ~64 seamless tube plants can be identified in China. The Tianjin Pipe Plant [capacity ~2.8 mt/year] appears to be amongst the largest of these facilities. Some plants however (including those of Changcheng Steel, Guangxi Liuzhou Iron & Steel, Guangzhou Iron & Steel Enterprise Group, Jiangsu Xigang, Tangshan Jianlong Industry, Kunming Iron & Steel Group, Bohai Drill Pipe, Fushun Special Steel and Yantai Steel) may not currently be operational.

There are ~53 producers of engineering steel (SBQ) bar in Europe [counting Europe as Western, Central and Eastern Europe but excluding Turkey]. The Metalloinvest Urals Steel SBQ plant at Stary Oskol [capacity ~1mt / year of engineering steel bar] is the largest of these plants, with the Mittal Ruhrort facility in Germany [SBQ capacity ~0.85 mt bar / year] in number two position. Ascometal's Le Cheylas facility was mothballed in 2011 and its present status is still uncertain.

There are ~33 producers of direct reduced iron in the Middle East. Of these, ~13 DRI facilities are in Iran [where capacity at Mobarakeh Steel dominates], 6 in Egypt and 5 in Saudi Arabia.

مشخصات کلی بنادر ایران

    

مجتمع بندری شهید رجایی در یک نگاه

مجتمع بندری شهید رجایی ، با برخورداری از  موقعیت منحصر به فرد جغرافیایی در نزدیکترین نقطه به تنگه هرمز و دهانه ورودی خلیج فارس، به دلیل  فاصله کوتاه از مسیر اصلی تردد بین قاره ای کشتی ها ، با قرار گرفتن در محل تلاقی کریدور ترانزیتی شمال- جنوب ، مهمترین دروازه واردات و صادرات جمهوری اسلامی ایران محسوب می شود.

این مجتمع عظیم بندری که در نقطه مرکزی نوار ساحلی جنوب کشور و در استان هرمزگان با بیش از 2 هزار و 300 کیلومتر مرز دریایی،  واقع شده، به واسطه قرار داشتن در جوار صنایع بزرگ این استان و استانهای تولیدی کشور و همچنین برخورداری از زیر ساختهای مناسب شقوق مختلف حمل و نقل و اتصال به شبکه بین المللی راه آهن، هوایی وجاده تاریخی ابریشم،  بیشترین نقش در صنعت حمل و نقل را ایفا نموده و با بیش از 80 بندر معروف جهان از طریق 35 خط برتر کانتینری دنیا تبادل کالا و مراوده بازرگانی دارد.

مجتمع بندری شهید رجایی ، با 2400 هکتار وسعت ، از ظرفیت پذیرش 70 میلیون تن کالا در سال برخوردار است و ظرفیت بهره مندی از 36 پست اسکله،  با در اختیار داشتن بزرگترین و پیشرفته ترین ترمینال کانتینری کشور، و پس از افتتاح فاز دوم طرح توسعه از ظرفیت 8/5 میلیون TEUکانتینر در سال برخوردار بوده و حجم گسترده ای از عملیات جابجایی کالای عمومی خصوصاً محصولات فولادی ، فله خشک ، فله مایع  و فرآورده های نفتی خام در این بندر انجام می شود.

این مجتمع عظیم بندری بعنوان دروازه  واردات وصادرات و تنظیم کننده نبض اقتصاد کشور ، طی سالهای اخیر حرکتی را برای جهانی شدن و گرفتن سهم بیشتری از حمل و نقل دریایی و تجارت بین المللی آغاز کرده و برای ایستادن در رتبه اول بنادر منطقه در افق چشم انداز 20 ساله کشور، برنامه های با هدف توسعه و افزایش کارایی و ترغیب بخش خصوصی برای سرمایه گذاری در این بندر به اجرا درآمده که ماحصل آن جذب بیش از 9 هزار میلیارد ریال سرمایه بخش خصوصی دراین بندر بوده است.

در نتیجه ای این تلاش ها، بندر شهید رجایی در سال 2011 میلادی با رشدی معادل 46 درصد ، در میان 3500 بندر مهم دنیا با 28 پله صعود از رتبه 72 به رتبه 44 دست یافته است.

نقطه آغاز این بندر، طرح توسعه و تکمیل حوضچه های دوم و سوم این مجتمع به منظور احداث اسکله های جدید با آبخور حدود 17 متر برای پهلو دهی شناورهای با ظرفیت 150 هزار تن بوده است.

الحاق 2400 هکتاراز اراضی واقع در شمال بندر شهید رجایی و ارتقاء مساحت بندر به 4800 هکتار و فراهم شدن امکان ایجاد یک شهر لجستیک بندری برای بسط و توسعه صادرات مجدد و ارائه خدمات ارزش افزوده از مهمترین اقدامات در حال انجام برای پیوستن این بندر به جمع بنادر نسل سوم جهان بوده  و با اجرای آن در آینده ای نزدیک،  منطقه ویژه اقتصادی بندر شهید رجایی ، ارزشمندترین نقش را در شکوفایی اقتصادملی و توزیع کالا در منطقه  ایفا خواهد نمود.
